What exactly is Blood orange?

Blood orange is a variety of your classic orange but it has a crimson red coloured flesh (the name makes sense now right?) Although Blood Orange can be hard to find in NZ, you can find these in the drink aisles at the supermarket in a liquid form from brands such as San Pellegrino. Unlike normal oranges, the blood orange has a more complex flavour that is filled with a slightly tart and more floral palate.
